Independence

Just wanted to include a picture of where I will be in ten weeks from today. Ahhhh

Anyway, the necessity for independence has become more prevalent than ever. Of course I knew I would have to become more independent, but actually being told of serious tasks in such a passive way is a little alarming.
"When you get over there, you can open up a bank account."
"Make sure to look into what health insurance works best for you."
"You can go buy a local cell phone over there if you need one and pick a plan."

Okay, so maybe I am being a little dramatic, but I do know that I will have to step up my game.

Dr. Hudgens was in Hong Kong about two weeks ago meeting with our cohorts, so we had a group meeting on Monday so he could relay information. We found out that we no longer know that we are going to be living in the Shaw College dorm and that we need to complete our language assessments soon. For some reason I have been putting that off; as if I am going to be more prepared today than I was yesterday. Also, we found out our daily summer schedule that runs June 7th to August 13th, Monday through Friday.
Intensive Language Class - 9:30am-12:50pm
Tailor-Made Class - 2:30pm-4:30pm (not exactly sure what this class will be, but Hudgens mentioned something about being program specific)
wooo...looks like high school all over again with a lunch break haha but I am sooo excited for my proficiency in the language to increase rapidly over the summer

I cannot wait to get home in May and spend that last month with family and friends. Though, that is definitely going to be the most difficult part. Becoming independent from my friends and family. I do not even know if I am mentally ready for that yet. But I guess a little push would not hurt...haha 'little' may be an under exaggeration in this situation, but none the less- I am ecstatic to see what else is out there.

For now the info's coming in gradually, I'll get back to updates as soon as I can!
